The Pohatcong Recreation Association held a meeting on Thursday August 9, 2001 with 9 people present, including Dale Cells, President; Rich Etter, Vice President; Donna Diehl, Treasurer; and Karen Clasen, Secretary. The July minutes were read and approved.

CHEERING:  No Report

 

FOOTBALL: Rich Etter reported the scoreboard has been erected. The field has been lined, and the equipment has been distributed. Rich reported 32 Flag, 34 Peewee, 36 Biddy, and 19 Midgets are in the program this year. Practice will begin August 13th for all teams except Midgets who will begin August 20th.

  

SOCCER:  Darrell Swinicki reported practice will begin August 15th, and a coaches meeting was held August 7th. Darrell reported he is still looking for a Senior Team coach. The season begins on September 8th, and schedules will be posted on August 14th.

 

WRESTLING:  No Report

 

BASKETBALL:  Dale Cells reported that an ad was placed in the newspaper for the Director position.

 

 SOFTBALL:  No Report

 

BASEBALL: Dale Cells reported the season is complete at all levels. The Juniors lost the second game of the playoffs. The Midget team lost to Steele Hill

In the best of three championship series. Dale reported that next year some changes would be made in the baseball program.

 

HOCKEY:   No Report

Sal has met with GPU in regards to putting lights up at the Crestwood Field.

Nominations will be held at next months meeting for Recreation Officers, and Committee members. Elections will be held at the October meeting.

The 5th Annual Golf Outing will be held on October1st rain or shine.

  

Karyn Smith made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Jim Burke

 seconded the motion. It was voted unanimously passed and the meeting was adjourned.
